Scientists found animals that live their entire lives without oxygen

Three species of Loricifera, tiny animals smaller than a millimetre, were discovered living in oxygen-free mud at the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea. Unlike tardigrades, which merely tolerate low oxygen temporarily, these animals complete their whole life cycle, including reproduction, without ever using oxygen, running on hydrogen sulfide instead.
