One country has its own currency, army, and elections but no seat at the UN
Somaliland declared independence from Somalia in 1991 and has since run its own government, printed its own money, and held multiple peaceful elections. Not a single UN member state formally recognizes it, so on most world maps it simply doesn't exist as a country.
