Elephants can tell which human ethnic group is talking, just from the voice

Kenyan elephants that have faced spearings from Maasai herders react with fear to recordings of Maasai men's voices but stay calm hearing the same words spoken by Kamba men, a group that poses far less threat to them. They can even tell adult male voices from women's and boys', and calibrate their alarm accordingly.
