In Thus Spoke Zarathustra, Nietzsche describes the Übermensch ('overman') as someone who creates their own values after recognizing that no God or cosmic order will hand them any. It's less a biological ideal than a challenge: stop borrowing your sense of right and wrong from elsewhere, and start authoring it yourself.
