This mole decides whether something is food in about 8 milliseconds

The star-nosed mole hunts underground and underwater almost totally blind, using 22 fleshy appendages ringing its nose that carry over 25,000 touch sensors called Eimer's organs. It can detect, identify and swallow prey faster than any other mammal studied, making the call in as little as 8 milliseconds, quicker than a human eye can blink.
