Slovenian grammar has a special form just for exactly two of something
Most languages settle for singular and plural, but Slovenian kept a third option inherited from Proto-Indo-European: the dual, distinct noun, verb and pronoun endings used only for exactly two people or things. Nearly every other Indo-European language lost it as it standardized in print; Slovenian's dual survived because it was already frozen into a literary standard by the 16th century. Only a handful of other languages, including Upper and Lower Sorbian, still keep a living dual today.
