His ship was crushed by ice, and he still brought every man home alive

In 1915, Ernest Shackleton's ship Endurance became trapped and was slowly crushed by Antarctic pack ice, forcing his 28-man crew onto the ice with lifeboats. Shackleton led them across drifting floes and open ocean, then sailed a small boat 800 miles to South Georgia for rescue. Every single member of the expedition survived.
