One country spans eleven time zones, more than any other

Russia stretches roughly 9,000 kilometres from Kaliningrad on the Baltic Sea to Kamchatka near Alaska, spanning eleven separate time zones — more than any other country. When people in Moscow are having breakfast, it's already evening nine time zones east in the country's far east.
