A plain so flat and treeless it's named after its own lack of trees
Australia's Nullarbor Plain, from the Latin for 'no trees,' is the largest single piece of limestone bedrock on Earth, covering an area bigger than the United Kingdom. Almost entirely flat and virtually treeless, it holds one of the world's longest straight stretches of railway track and hides an extensive network of caves carved into the limestone below.
