Why a basketball star's ticket sales can wreck 'fair' equality

Robert Nozick imagined a perfectly equal society where fans then freely pay extra just to watch a star player. Within a season, the star is rich and equality is gone — with no one's rights violated. Nozick used it to argue that maintaining any fixed distribution of wealth requires constantly interfering with free choices.
