Write the same word thirty times and it can stop looking like a word

Jamais vu, French for 'never seen,' is the eerie mirror image of deja vu: something completely familiar suddenly feels brand new and strange. Psychologist Chris Moulin triggered it in volunteers simply by having them write a common word, like 'door,' over and over for a minute; about two-thirds reported the word starting to feel meaningless or wrong. It's a normal glitch in recognition, not a sign that anything is actually malfunctioning.
