Berlin: freedom from others isn't the same as freedom to rule yourself

In a 1958 lecture, Isaiah Berlin split 'liberty' into two rival ideas: negative liberty, being left alone by others, and positive liberty, having the actual power to be your own master. He warned that positive liberty, pushed too far, can end up justifying a state forcing you to be free.
