A philosopher looked for his 'self' and found only passing sensations
When David Hume introspected to find a stable, continuous self behind his thoughts, he reported finding nothing but a bundle of fleeting perceptions, one after another, with no unifying thread underneath. His 'bundle theory' denies any persistent soul or ego exists at all -- only the succession of experiences we mistake for one.
