You can never know both exactly where and how fast something is moving

Werner Heisenberg showed that pinning down a particle's position more precisely necessarily blurs how precisely you can know its momentum, and vice versa — not because our instruments are clumsy, but because both properties can't be simultaneously well-defined. It's why 'empty' space is never truly still: the uncertainty forbids position and momentum from both settling at exactly zero.
