This snake has no wings, yet it glides from tree to tree
Southeast Asia's flying snakes launch themselves from branch tips, then suck in their abdomen and flare their ribs outward to flatten their body into a concave, frisbee-like cross-section. Continuously undulating in an S-shape through the air for stability, they can glide for a surprising distance between trees, all without wings, membranes or any gliding structure other than their own reshaped body.
