The best hunter in the animal kingdom isn't a lion — it's a dragonfly
Lions succeed on roughly a quarter of their hunts and great white sharks on about half, but dragonflies catch their prey in up to 95% of attempts. Researchers tracking their neurons found dragonflies continuously recalculate a flying insect's trajectory and steer to intercept it, rather than simply chasing — closer to a guided missile than a predator giving chase.
