The Cyrillic alphabet wasn't actually invented by Cyril

Saints Cyril and Methodius devised the Glagolitic alphabet for Slavic speech. Cyrillic came later, built after Cyril's death by his disciples at the Preslav Literary School in Bulgaria, adapting Greek uncial letters instead. It carries his name as a tribute, not a credit.
