Earth's mixtape is now outside the solar system
Bolted to both Voyager probes are gold-plated copper records carrying images, natural sounds and music from Bach to Chuck Berry, plus greetings in 55 languages — Earth's message to any spacefaring civilisation that finds it. Carl Sagan chaired the committee that assembled it in 1977. Both Voyagers have since left the heliosphere, making the record humanity's most distant artefact.
