Venezuela's currency collapsed so severely in the late 2010s that annual inflation was estimated at over one million percent in 2018, forcing the central bank to lop zeros off the currency twice in three years. At the peak of the crisis, some vendors reportedly found it faster to weigh stacks of near-worthless bills on a scale than to count them note by note.
