A constructed language with only about 120 words was designed to simplify thought

Canadian translator Sonja Lang created Toki Pona in 2001, deliberately limiting it to roughly 120 root words and a handful of grammar rules so speakers combine broad concepts instead of memorising thousands of specific ones. Despite, or because of, its tiny vocabulary, it has since grown a genuine online speaker community that discusses complex topics using only its core words.
