The fastest beetle on Earth has to stop running because it goes blind

Tiger beetles can sprint at over 100 body lengths per second, but they run too fast for their own eyes to keep up: the image streams past faster than their visual system can process it. So they chase prey in bursts, sprinting blind, then stopping dead every so often just to see where they are before sprinting again.
