You recognize 'nurse' faster right after reading 'doctor'

In a classic experiment, people judged whether a string of letters was a real word. They confirmed 'nurse' faster when it followed a related word like 'doctor' than when it followed an unrelated word. Activating one concept in memory automatically primes related concepts, speeding recognition before you're even aware of it.
