Scotland's parliament reopened in 1999 with a line picking up from 1707
When the new Scottish Parliament first met on 12 May 1999, its oldest member, Winnie Ewing, opened proceedings by declaring that the Scottish Parliament, adjourned on 25 March 1707, was hereby reconvened. Legally it was a brand-new body created by the Scotland Act 1998 after the 1997 devolution referendum, but the words tied it to the parliament dissolved by the Acts of Union.
