Oxford University is older than the Aztec Empire

Teaching existed at Oxford by 1096. Tenochtitlan, the Aztec capital, was founded in 1325 — by which point Oxford had been running for over two centuries. 'Ancient' civilisations and 'modern' institutions overlap far more than our mental timelines suggest.
