No archaeologist has ever found the ruins of one of the Seven Wonders of the World
Ancient writers described the Hanging Gardens of Babylon as tiered terraces of lush greenery rising above the city, built, legend says, by King Nebuchadnezzar II for a homesick wife. Unlike the pyramids, no confirmed physical trace of the gardens has ever been excavated, and some historians now argue the accounts describe gardens in Nineveh instead, 300 miles away.
