A giraffe's neck has exactly as many bones as yours does

Despite being over a metre and a half long, a giraffe's neck contains just seven cervical vertebrae, the same number found in humans, mice, and nearly every other mammal. Each vertebra is simply stretched to extraordinary length, some over 25cm long, rather than added in number.
