Erikson mapped eight identity crises you pass through from infancy to old age

Erik Erikson proposed that personality develops through eight life stages, each centered on its own conflict — trust versus mistrust in infancy, identity versus role confusion in adolescence, generativity versus stagnation in midlife. Failing to resolve a stage doesn't stop your life, but Erikson argued it leaves a mark carried into the next one. The theory coined the term identity crisis.
