Walking through a doorway can make you forget what you were just thinking

Psychologist Gabriel Radvansky had people carry objects between rooms, real and virtual, then tested their memory for what they held. Simply passing through a doorway hurt recall more than walking the same distance within a single room. Your brain seems to file the previous room away as a closed chapter the instant you cross a threshold.
