This primate taps on trees with an impossibly thin finger to find grubs hidden inside

The aye-aye, a nocturnal lemur, has a skeletal middle finger it uses to tap rapidly along branches, listening for the echo change that reveals a hollow tunnel where a grub is hiding. It then gnaws a hole and fishes the insect out with that same finger — a hunting technique researchers call percussive foraging.
