One ice sheet holds most of the fresh water on Earth

Antarctica's ice sheet accounts for about 90% of the planet's ice and roughly 70% of all its fresh water, locked up in a layer that in places is nearly 5 kilometres thick. If it all melted, global sea levels would rise by around 58 metres.
